On June 4 West Mead #1 was dispatched for a vehicle fire on Barton Rd with exposure of a residential structure. Members responded with 28-12 and 28-13. On arrival an 1 3/4″ handline from 28-12 was employed to knock down the fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle. Engine 28-13 provided water supply and additional personnel. Through quick action the department halted the fire’s spread and minimized damage to the residence.

Mutual aid department West Mead #2 was placed on standby during the incident.
