West Mead #1 ran two drills this week for training. West Mead #1 members who respond with the Crawford County Scuba Team to water-related emergencies trained on surface ice rescue techniques. Members practised rescues using the swim board, ice rescue sled, and rapid deployment craft. Conditions were great as the ice often broke under the weight of the rescuers.

While the water rescue members worked on the ice, the rest of the department trained on conducting primary searches at the Alden Street station.

Thank you to the 16 members who took time out of their schedules to train tonight.
