At 6:02 PM West Mead 2 and 1 were dispatched with Meadville Ambulance and Saegertown for a structure fire in an attached garage on Star Route. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 responded with 29-1 and 29-2. Assistant Chief Craig Lauer and Chief Brad Johnston arrived at the two-story wood-frame residence and reported smoke in an attached garage with no visible fire showing. They used two water fire extinguishers to attack smoldering embers near the garage peak. A crew from 28-13 pulled a 1 3/4″ preconnected line and set up ladders for overhaul operations. West Mead 1 and 2 firefighters worked together to check for extension and ventilate the house that had some smoke in the first floor. Damage was limited to a small section of the roof with some smoke damage in the garage.

All 28 units returned to service by 7:45 PM.
