At 3:20 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched for an engine to stand by at Meadville Central while their crew assisted Saegertown with a structure fire. 28-12 responded to supplement the Department 16 off-duty firefighters. When Department 28 was tapped for an additional engine to help Saegertown with tanker shuttle, 28-11 responded to the scene on Jordan Drive in Saegertown. Despite temperatures in the mid-20s below zero, 28-11 and other tankers completed between 15 and 20 trips. As the demand for water slacked, tankers were staged at H & H Super Duper and then Department 19’s station on Erie Street. While waiting at Saegertown’s station, 28-11 responded with Saegertown and Venango to a fire alarm at the Crawford County Care Center on Highway 198.
28-12 was released from standby when Meadville’s units returned to the city just after noon. 28-11 returned to Alden Street at 1:30 PM.
