At 00:17 Sunday, May 24, West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist Meadville Central at the scene of a two alarm fire on South Cottage Street in the City of Meadville.
West Mead #1 responded with 28-11 and 28-12 staffed with 13 members. Crews from Meadville Central quickly extinguished the majority of the fire before second alarm companies arrived on scene. West Mead #1 assisted Meadville Central with laddering the building, ventilation, and securing utilities. While crews from West Mead #1 were operating at the structure fire, Crawford County O.E.S. dispatched the department for an second call. 28-13 staffed with 3 members handled the EMS call. By 2:30 a.m. all units had returned to quarters and were back in service.
Other departments operating on scene included Meadville Ambulance, Meadville Volunteers, Saegertown, Vernon Central, and West Mead #2.
