At 11:24 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist Cochranton with a brush fire along Pettis Road. Engines 28-12 and 28-13 responded to the scene, a wind-driven grass and leaves fire in a wooded area. The engine crews stretched a crosslay handline, eventually using approximately 600′ of hose to contain the furthest spread of the fire.
All 28 units returned to service by 1:30 PM.
