For the second night in a row, West Mead Township was impacted by significant flooding due to slow-moving thunderstorms. Calls began coming in just prior to 9:00 pm for flooding on US 322/Cochranton Road. While responding to this incident, we were notified of additional flooding on Liberty Street Extension. 28-12, 28-13, and 28-14 responded and found much of Cochranton Road impassable due to high water and debris. At this point West Mead 2 was requested to assist with traffic control; however, prior to their arriving, we took additional flooding calls on Route 27 and Townline Road. During this event East Mead Vol. Fire Company also helped our company provide traffic control on Townline Road.

West Mead 1 urges our residents and people traveling on roads in our area to be very cautious as additional rain is forecast for today. With the past two days of flooding, many culvert pipes are partially blocked by debris and additional flooding may occur with little notice.
