West Mead #1 evaluated new nozzles for our attack lines this week for training. Our current nozzles are close to 15 years old and have recently begun showing their age. One nozzle failed at the scene of a fire, preventing the crew from applying water when needed. This could have been a disastrous situation for our firefighters.
Crews staffing 28-11, 28-12, and 28-13 established water supply and spent time operating nozzles from two manufacturers. Kaza Fire Equipment was on hand to facilitate the evaluation and members left the training with a good idea of what to look for in the next nozzles we purchase.
West Mead #1 thanks Kaza rep Nate Hetrick and his assistant Dawson for helping us this evening.
