At 10:45 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched for a medical call on Pettis Road with a possible gas leak. Rescue Chief Jayme Corey and Meadville Ambulance arrived on scene and confirmed the need for an engine company to assist with a natural gas leak in the building. Engine 28-12 responded to the single-story wood-frame residential structure. Department 28 personnel worked with West Mead Police to investigate and isolate the source of the leak, then secured the utilities and opened windows and doors to ventilate the building.

All 28 units returned to service by 11:23 PM.
