At 9:12 pm Friday, June 26, West Mead #1 was dispatched along with automatic aid from West Mead #2, West Mead PD and Meadville Ambulance to a reported structure fire (kitchen fire) on Lamont Drive. 28-11 and 28-12 responded with 19 members and units began arriving on scene at 9:17 pm. 28-12 stretched a 1 3/4” handline into the garage and made entry into the kitchen area. Crews found a small fire that was mostly extinguished by the homeowner. Remaining personnel from 28-12 and 28-11 began ventilation and overall. West Mead #2 engine 29-1 along with Meadville Ambulance remained on scene for a short period of time and were released.

Working smoke detectors alerted the homeowner of the fire.
