Members of West Mead #1, Meadville Ambulance, and Crawford County Scuba Team assisted Meadville Central with their annual Junior Firefighter Camp on Saturday. The day’s program began at 10:00 AM with about 35 children split into 5 teams. Each team rotated through several stations staffed by firefighters and medical personnel. The junior firefighters toured an engine, an ambulance, and a Zodiac craft; crushed and cut aluminum cans; and learned how to approach dogs safely. The day’s activities also included other fire-related drills and practice with extinguishing mock fires with a hoseline.
