On November 1 at 5:07 AM, West Mead #1 was dispatched as part of a second alarm to assist Vernon Central for a working structure fire on Perry Highway. Engine 28-12 responded with a full crew and reported to a hydrant near Perry Highway and McMath Road to set up water supply. Engine 28-13 picked up 28-12’s crew and continued in to the scene, where they assisted with fire suppression and overhaul. Shortly after 28-13 cleared the fire scene to return, West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist Meadville Central Fire Department for a reported motor vehicle accident with injury and entrapment on Washington Street. The crew from 28-13 responded and provided assistance with extrication and spill control from leaking vehicle fluids. 28-13 cleared the vehicle accident and reported to Meadville Central Fire Department for standby. All 28 units were in-service from both calls shortly before noon.
