West Mead #1 was dispatched at 8:54 PM to assist Meadville Department 16 for a working fire on the roof of Channellock building 1. West Mead #1 was initially dispatched for one engine to assist the city. As 28-13 went en route with five personnel, the alarm was upgraded to a second alarm, which requested a second engine from West Mead #1. 28-12 also responded to the scene. Personnel from 16 and 28 worked on the roof of the facility while remaining personnel from 16 and 28 worked interior to locate the fire. An inspection cut was created in the roof with some roofing material being removed to locate the fire and check for extension. The fire was located in a wooden frame around the base of a fan and was extinguished. Additional departments responding on the second alarm included West Mead #2, Vernon Central, and Saegertown. All West Mead #1 units were back in service at 10:38 PM.
