On Friday night West Mead 1 assisted Meadville Central with a working house fire on Market St, along with other area volunteer fire companies.
On a busy Tuesday morning West Mead 1 firefighters responded to a series of calls involving a tree down, a mutual aid garage fire, and a fire alarm.
At 6:02 PM West Mead 2 and 1 were dispatched with Meadville Ambulance and Saegertown for a structure fire in an attached garage on Star Route.
At 4:54 PM West Mead 1 was dispatched for a full assist to Cochranton for a working trailer fire on Sugar Creek Lane.
Just before 6:00 pm Sunday, West Mead 1 was dispatched with West Mead #2 and Meadville Ambulance for a residential basement fire on Park Street.
At 7:43 pm Thursday West Mead 1 was dispatched for a structure fire on Liberty St less than a mile from our station. Due to fire conditions in the basement, a second alarm was requested.
At 3:38 AM West Mead #1 was dispatched with Vernon Central and Saegertown to assist Meadville Central with a structure fire on Highland Avenue. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 responded to the scene, a two-story wood-frame residential duplex, where crews from Meadville Central and West Mead 2 were already at work extinguishing the fire that began on the porch and spread into the apartment and up the eaves.
At 12:11 AM West Mead 1 was dispatched with Cochranton to assist Utica with a structure fire along US 322. Engine 28-12 responded with a full crew to the scene. Department 28 spent the bulk of time on suppression and overhaul on the most damaged building, a post-frame metal garage.
At 4:39 AM West Mead 1 was dispatched with other mutual aid departments to assist Vernon Township with a reported structure fire after an explosion at Advanced Cast Products on Mill Street. Engine 28-12 responded to the scene, a three-story brick and steel industrial building with visible smoke in the area.
At 9:00 AM, West Mead 1 was dispatched to assist Cochranton with a structure fire on Snake Rd in French Creek Township. The initial request for an engine to stand by at Dept 4 was upgraded to a full assist as reports from the scene indicated fire through the roof and on both floors.
