At 4:04 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched for an engine crew to respond to a reported violation of West Mead Township’s burning ordinance on Alden Street. Engine 28-12 responded to the scene and found an unattended smoldering fire burning household trash and other items outside a proper container. West Mead #1 officers advised the resident of the township ordinance, and firefighters extinguished the fire with a water can, portable tanks, and hand tools. 28 was back in service by 4:40 PM.
