On Sunday afternoon West Mead #1 was dispatched for a brush fire on McHenry Street. 28-11, 12, and 13 responded to the scene and found a small area of brush burning just off the roadway. Crews advanced the bumper line from 28-13 and began extinguishment. Crews also utilized hand tools and Indian pumps to assist with suppression. 28-12 arrived and provided additional water to 28-13 while 28-11 began setting up a nearby hydrant to fill equipment. During overhaul 28-13 utilized the onboard foam tank to apply class A foam to the burn area to help ensure complete extinguishment. West Mead #1 operated for just under an hour before returning to service.
