As West Mead #1 crews cleaned equipment from the burn training, the department was dispatched for a brush fire along Cochranton Road. Engines 28-13, 28-12, and 28-11 responded to the scene, where the fire had extended along a fence row and ignited several downed trees and brush piles. The 28-13 engine crew pulled an 1 3/4″ handline to attack the fire near the roadway while the 28-12 crew grabbed hand tools and portable tanks to contain the spread of the fire along the fence row. 28-12 provided water supply and 28-11 personnel provided traffic control for the incident.

All 28 units returned to service by 4:30 PM.
