At 7:42 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched with West Mead #2, Vernon Central, and Saegertown to assist Meadville Central with a structure fire in an unoccupied three-story dwelling on Boynton Street in Meadville. Both West Mead fire departments were participating in a water supply drill near the Country Club of Meadville. Engine 28-13 responded immediately with a crew from Departments 28 and 29, with other engines following as they became available.

On scene at Boynton Street, 28 personnel assisted with fire suppression, overhaul, personnel accountability, and escape ladders.

All 28 units returned to service by 9:47 PM.

Other departments on scene included Meadville Central, West Mead #2, Vernon Central, Saegertown, and Meadville Ambulance.
