Shortly after 2:00 PM on Tuesday, West Mead #1 was dispatched as part of a second-alarm assist to Meadville Central for a working fire with possible entrapment. Engine 28-13 responded and arrived on scene within five minutes of dispatch and stretched a line into the duplex to begin a primary search. Meadville Central crews were already searching for possible victims and extinguishing fire. Crews eventually were withdrawn from the structure due to deteriorating conditions, and an exterior attack was initiated. West Mead #1 operated on scene for just under three hours before being released by command.
