At 6:40 AM on March 6, West Mead 1 was dispatched to assist West Mead Police with traffic control for a motor vehicle accident on Liberty Street at Lamont Drive. One pickup truck towing a trailer was partially off the road over an embankment. The crew from Engine 28-12 provided traffic control while Leonard’s Towing worked to pull the trailer and pickup truck back onto the road.

Shortly after returning to station from the first incident, West Mead 1 was again dispatched to assist with traffic control for a motor vehicle accident with injury on Star Route. Meadville Central Fire Department and Meadville Ambulance were dispatched to handle the accident scene and patient care while 28-12 responded for traffic control. West Mead 1 personnel shut down Star Route at both Leslie Road and Thurston Road for the duration of the incident until vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
