At 6:48 pm West Mead 1 was requested to assist Meadville Central with a residential structure fire on State Street. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 responded to the scene, a 2 1/2-story wood-frame single family home with a walk-out basement, where Meadville Central firefighters had already extinguished the fire on the rear porch. Department 28 personnel assisted with a secondary search, scene lighting, ventilation, overhaul and cleanup.

All 28 units returned to service by 7:50.
