At 5:28 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched with Hayfield, West Mead #2, and Meadville Ambulance to assist Vernon Township and Vernon Central with a working structure fire on Rogers Ferry Road. After Engine 28-12 responded for RIT, Engine 28-11 responded to the Meadville Water Authority facility for backup water supply. Hayfield and West Mead #2 arrived on scene and pulled handlines to attack the well-involved fire in a detached garage with no exposures. 28-12’s crew provided RIT and then assisted with overhaul after the garage was on the ground. As crews wrapped up operations, 28-12 returned to stand by Vernon Township’s station until 27 cleared the incident.

All 28 units returned to service by 7:25 PM.
