For training this week West Mead #1 met at Lincoln Recycling to practice skills and procedures for basic vehicle rescue. Engines 28-13 and 28-12 supplied equipment while Squad 28-14 provided scene lighting. Department 28 personnel split into two crews to work on separate vehicles, assessing the scene, stabilizing the vehicles, identifying hazards, and gaining access to entrapped patients. Using hand tools, electric tools, and hydraulic spreaders and cutters, they completed door removals, an extended roof flap, a dash lift and a dash roll.

After operating as separate crews, the entire group returned to work a scenario involving an entrapped and impaled mannequin in a pickup truck.

West Mead #1 thanks Lincoln Recycling for providing the vehicles for rescue training.
