On January 10, 2017, at 7:39 AM, West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist West Mead Police Department with traffic control on Pettis Road due to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries. 28-12 responded to the scene and found two vehicles off either side of the road on a curve. At the request of West Mead PD, 28-12 shut down Pettis Road to traffic coming down the hill, diverting vehicles onto Devore Road. Personnel also set up traffic control at Autumn Hills subdivision. After vehicles were cleared by the towing company and West Mead PD, 28 reopened the roadway and returned in service at 8:42 AM.

West Mead #1 urges all motorists to drive carefully at reduced speeds on slippery and snow- or slush-covered roads.
