At 11:26 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched with Meadville Ambulance for a medical emergency on Pettis Road. The patient had left the residence on foot and later became disoriented and unable to walk. Chief 28 Brad Johnston requested a second dispatch for a search crew and asked for West Mead #2 to assist with the large-area search. Engines 28-13 and 12 and Squad 28-14 were used to transport personnel and provide scene lighting for searching. West Mead #1 focused on the area of Pettis Road to Barton Road, while West Mead #2 searched Morgan Village Road and surrounding areas. County dispatchers established phone contact with the patient and directed searchers to a location along Barton Road. Searchers located the patient and provided first aid. West Mead #2 transported the patient in their tracked UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) to Meadville Ambulance on Barton Road.
