At 4:45 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched to standby at Meadville Central while the city fire department assisted police with a suspected one-pot meth lab on Lord Street. Engine 28-12 responded with an engine crew to handle any fire incidents in the city’s first-due district. While on standby, Dept 28 personnel assisted Chief 16 Evan Hasko with two individuals trapped in a malfunctioning elevator at Holland Towers. With Engines 16-1 and 16-2 and Squad 16-8 on scene, the Pennsylvania State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team of Erie neutralized the meth lab, and West Mead #1 returned to service by 7:53 PM.
