On April 19 West Mead #1 met with mutual aid departments Meadville Central and West Mead #2 to train with Crawford County Scuba Team. At Bicentennial Park along French Creek, West Mead #1 Chief Brad Johnston reviewed appropriate personal safety equipment and talked about throwing rope bags, interviewing witnesses, and measuring streamflow. Members of the fire departments then split into teams to practice throwing rope bags at stationary and moving victims, first on land and then in the water. After deploying their inflatable boats, Scuba Team members simulated swimmers in need of rescue.
West Mead #1 thanks Crawford County Scuba Team, Meadville Central, and West Mead #2 for their help and participation in the joint drill.
