At 1:56 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched for a brush fire on Williamson Road. Engines 28-12, 28-11 and 28-13 responded to the scene, a slow-moving grass fire among downed tree limbs and some building supplies in a backyard. While enroute, 28-R1 requested Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department to assist with their brush truck 4-23. On arrival 28-12 personnel pulled a 200′ crosslay for the initial attack and then added a 50′ extension to reach the outer edges of the fire. Cochranton personnel helped with hand tools to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
All 28 units returned to service by 3:00 PM.
