The members of West Mead #1 ran several calls from Friday, May 21st to Sunday, May 23rd. Beginning Friday morning at 03:27 West Mead #1 along with Meadville Ambulance was alerted for a medical emergency on Alden St. Crews operated on scene for a short time and returned in service.

Saturday morning West Mead #1 took engine 28-12 to the Crawford County Fair Grounds for a Big Brother/Big Sisters event. Several more departments were on hand for this event that allowed children to get a up close and personal look at several large fire engines, ambulances, police, and road work equipment. While 28-12 was at the fair grounds, West Mead #1 and Meadville Ambulance was dispatched (12:28) for another medical call in Autumn Hills.

Around 21:00 Saturday night, West Mead #1 sent divers and line tenders with the Crawford County Scuba Team to assist several western Erie County fire departments with water rescues on Elk Creek. West Mead #1 members returned from Erie County shortly before 2:00 Sunday morning.

Sunday afternoon (13:38) West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist Vernon Central (23) with a working structure fire on Perry Highway at Supercare. Initially 28-11 and 28-12 responded with 12 members, while responding Vernon Central C-4 requested 28-13 to establish water supply on Semerod Road. Crews from 11 and 12 completed salvage operations while the crew from 13 set up the portable pumps and filled tankers. Vernon Central and Greenwood fire departments had the bulk of the fire extinguished prior to our arrival.

At 7:17 PM Sunday West Mead #1 was dispatched to assist state police on Cochranton Road for a motor vehicle accident. 28-11 and 28-12 responded with 11 members and returned to service at 8:22 PM.
