Just after 11:00 PM on January 9 West Mead #1 was dispatched to a reported transformer fire on Williamson Road near Neason Hill Elementary. In sub-zero temperatures, 28-12 and 28-11 responded to close Williamson to traffic between Barton and Lamont Roads. While crews waited for Penelec to arrive, they also investigated a report of arcing power lines on nearby Neason Street. Penelec arrived about 1:00 AM to shut down power and begin restoring electric service to numerous residences in the area.

All 28 units returned to service by 1:45 AM.
