Just before 3:00 PM West Mead #1 was dispatched as part of a second alarm to assist East Mead VFC with a garage fire along State Highway 198. Engines 28-12 and 28-11 responded to the scene. 28-12 was assigned to traffic control at the intersection of Highways 198 and 77, while 28-11 used portable pumps to draft from a small creek near the incident.

Other departments operating on scene included East Mead, Blooming Valley, Saegertown, Randolph, West Mead #2, Vernon Central, and Meadville Ambulance.

All 28 units returned to service by 5:37 PM.
