This past week West Mead #1 mourned the passing of Meadville Central Fire Department Chief Larndo “Tunie” Hedrick, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 16. Department 28 officers coordinated volunteer personnel from Crawford County to provide EMS and fire coverage to the city so Meadville Central firefighters could accompany and mourn their chief. West Mead #1 and #2 departments were on standby multiple times along with other area volunteer departments. We were privileged to stand with our brothers and sisters to salute a good man who served with honor and integrity.
