Shortly after 7:00 pm last night West Mead 1 was placed on standby for a possible assist to Cochranton in response to a severe weather event that passed just north of Cochranton boro. 28-14 and 28-11 eventually responded to assist with numerous trees down. During this time crews remained staffing 28-13 and 28-12, which ultimately responded to additional trees down in West Mead Township on Tamarack Drive. West Mead 1 fire police also assisted Cochranton with shutting down US Highway 322 due to wires blocking the roadway while PennDot established long-term traffic control.
