Several of West Mead #1’s members have supported the county-level water rescue/dive team. Currently West Mead #1 has 4 certified divers and an additional 6 members that support the team has line tenders/boat operators. January 23 represented the second ice training session for the dive team since December 31. This session focused on rigging the entry point for dive operations. All divers with the team dive tethered to the surface with a rope and underwater communications system.
Once the hole was rigged, four divers completed 12-15 minute dives under the ice.
